Hulu Adds CBS, The Most-Watched Network, To Live-Streaming Service

CEO Mike Hopkins revealed Wednesday morning that the new service, which will offer programming from CBS, Fox, Disney and Turner, will be priced competitively at under $40 a month.

Hulu says its live-streaming service will launch in the coming months, but did not give a date.

Hulu has been putting the pieces in place for its live TV bundle since last spring, when it first announced its plans.

Saban just loves dealing with Kiffin nonsense
Otherwise, if I were Clemson, I would take a small amount of joy in the discomfort that the Crimson Tide is undergoing now. The afternoon was saved by a breakout performance from bruising running back Bo Scarbrough , who rushed for 180 yards.

Comcast (CMCSA), owner of NBC, has yet to strike a licensing deal with Hulu for its new streaming service despite being a co-owner along with Disney (DIS) and 21st Century Fox (FOXA), which have done so, Hopkins said.

"Today's announcement represents another significant step in our strategy to deliver CBS's industry leading content to viewers whenever and wherever they want to watch it, at terms that are consistent with the company's goals", said Ray Hopkins, CBS' president of television networks distribution. CBS owns the most-watched television network in the USA and one of the world's largest libraries of entertainment content, making its brand - "the Eye" - one of the most recognized in business. (Hopkins clarified that Hulu's "under $40" was not a promotional price point).

Following the roll out of AT&T's impressively affordable DirecTV Now streaming service, Hulu is also planning to roll out a streaming TV service of its own. "Our internal mission is to reinvent TV".

NAACP Leaders Stage Sit-In At Attorney General Nominee's Office
A news conference in Mobile Tuesday ended with a sit-in by members of the NAACP at the Mobile office for U.S. The move sparked outrage among many who have denounced Sessions' history of racism and voter suppression.

Hulu has agreements in hand with Fox and Disney to include their TV channels in Hulu's planned skinny bundle. AT&T had the best value service with its $35-a-month DirecTV Now plan of more than 100 channels, but will increase the price to $60 later this month.

A big part of what will make the service successful is what programming it offers. The cloud DVR option is one that Hopkins thinks will set the service apart from some of its competition. Program downloads for offline viewing, a feature recently debuted by Netflix, won't be included at launch, but they're "on the roadmap". CBS will reportedly pull in $3 per monthly subscriber from Hulu in exchange for granting access to its programming.

CBS's preeminent sports programming, including the National Football League on CBS (all preseason, regular and post-season games broadcast on CBS) and the NCAA DIVISION I MEN'S BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP will also be offered on the new service, as well as news programming and specials, CBS's leading late night shows and major annual live events such as The GRAMMYs®.

Finland to trial basic income for the unemployed
This causes poverty as because of the lack of a source of income, a great number of people can not afford the basic necessities. Time will tell if the Finnish experiment proves successful in reducing inequality - and if other countries will follow suit.

Currently, of the three major streaming service available to consumers, only PlayStation Vue offers any content from CBS.
