Taylor Farms and Sargento Issue Recalls on Chicken and Cheese Products

Hold the nachos. Sargento just recalled seven of its cheeses for a potential listeria contamination.

While there have been no confirmed cases of Listeria associated with the recall, it's better to be safe than sorry - according to the CDC, Listeria is a serious infection caused by contamination of the bacteria Listeria monocytogenes; about 1600 people contract it a year, and it results in 260 deaths.

One of the largest cheese companies in the United States is recalling several of its products over fears of listeria contamination. No illnesses have been reported to Meijer from the affected products. However, even healthy consumers can experience symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarhhea.
