This is the sixth wave of bomb threats targeting Jewish institutions since the beginning of the year.

These latest bomb threats affected some 15 institutions in Massachusetts, Illinois, Wisconsin, Maryland, Oregon, Florida, Alabama, and NY, and two Canadian Jewish Community Centers, according to the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, a nonprofit news organization. The Anti-Defamation League, a Jewish civil rights organisation, also said it received bomb threats at four of its locations.
The letter, penned by Senators Marco Rubio, Gary Peters, Rob Portman, and Bill Nelson, was signed by every U.S. Senator and addressed to Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly, Attorney General Jeff Sessions, and FBI Director James Comey. "Portland Police officers have regularly been providing extra patrol to the community center and other facilities after reports of threats occurring across the United States".
USA federal authorities have been investigating a surge of threats against Jewish organisations, including more than 100 hoax bomb threats in five separate waves in January and February in more than a dozen states, said Reuters.
