Denver Zoo welcomes a baby giraffe no one is talking about

Worldwide animal sensation April the pregnant giraffe is "growing" even more and her keepers can feel the baby moving in her belly, the upstate NY zoo said in its daily update as millions of fans wait on edge for the delivery. He is now one of five giraffes, including his 23-year-old mother, to call the Denver Zoo home and he's the first to be born at the zoo since 2010. This will be April's fourth calf, but the Harpursville zoo's first giraffe birth.

"Zookeepers suspected she might be pregnant, despite birth control, because her stomach and udder were becoming larger", said a zoo statement.

"Staff was monitoring Kipele overnight when she went into labor", Aucone said.

No big news for April and Oliver Thursday morning, the two giraffes that have people around the world on edge awaiting the birth of their calf. Regardless of public interest, mother and baby will continue resting and bonding in the zoo's giraffe building and are not on public view.

Park officials also set the record straight: April is not in labor, yet.

"The timeline is obviously a little wrong at this point", zoo owner Jordan Patch said in a video update posted Wednesday on YouTube.

In the latest Facebook post from late Thursday night, the Animal Adventure Park in NY says the expectant giraffe is "without question - growing!"

Eventually, they were able to confirm her pregnancy. "The fact that you're gonna get to witness the miracle of birth from an animal that you really don't get to see give birth - that's neat".

Apparently giraffe births are all the rage.

April is a 15-year-old giraffe.

Back in Denver, zoo staff had to initially feed Dobby, but officials say he's now nursing and appears in good health.
